Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an academic discipline which trains students and professional for a career in management or business administration. However, it has been debatable whether it is really necessary to attain an MBA degree to be successful in business
This degree entails investing massive amount of time and money that could have been invested somewhere else.
In reality, among the hundreds of thousands of MBAs that graduate every year, the number of successful startups started by them is pitifully, embarrassingly, low.
MBA is not required and necessary to be successful in. usiness. What is important is that if owner of the business is not literate that much then he can make his business successful by applying his mind and extra effort.
There are other characteristics that matter more such as grit, emotional maturity, intellect, willingness and capability to learn and grow with the venture.
MBA is a way to achieve goal, but definitely not a mandatory goal to be the most successful as shown by Gates, Zuckerberg, Hastings (Netflix), Hoffman (LinkedIn), Krieger & Systrom (Instagram), who all graduated from Harvard or Stanford. But none with an MBA.
