When Tom was asked during this daily live what is the best way to write a business plan for a bin store, he laughed at first and then provided us with a fact that “Real business is not written in a plan, it actually changes day to day”.

Do you really have to prepare a business plan? The answer is yes because it serves as a guide that helps you outline and achieve your goals. It’s also a management tool that allows you to analyze results, make strategic decisions, and showcase how your business will operate, and grow.

A business plan increases your chance of success but it is your perseverance and determination that guarantees you success.

Your business plan does not have to be complicated. Just focus on your goal which is to get your business plan done so you can focus on building your business. Here are some tips.

Business plans should be short and concise because you will continue to use and refine it over time. Make it simple by being straight to the point and not using jargons just to make it seem lengthy and comprehensive. Accommodate your investors, and keep explanations of your product simple and direct, using terms that everyone can understand. Avoid jargon words. Make sure your readers can understand it. Next is test your business idea to save you from spending days developing a strategy that just isn’t feasible.   Then, establish SMART goals – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound.

Most important thing to do is move, act, and go out there and make some money. Simply having a goal in mind does not achieve success. A goal without a plan is just a wish…and daydreams alone seldom produce results.
